About Maria

Maria Bardet helps teachers and business owners claim their place in the world and own it. She is the founder and creative director of Humani Studios, Inc and creator of the Humani Teacher Training Program.

Maria started teaching 12 years ago —after leaving her career in public policy. After being a passionate Pilates nerd for 6 years, she recognized the need for an inclusive and safe space for all humans in her local community to explore themselves through movement. Eventually she opened the doors to Humani Pilates, which is now the most recognized and top rated Pilates studio in her city.

Maria believes in spaces where the teacher and the student are equally invested in personal growth and see each other’s perspective and experiences as insightful and valuable. She also believes in constant evolution — for students, teachers, and the movement industry as a whole.

After a decade of studio ownership and teaching, Maria created the Humani™️ Teacher Training Program. The program’s mission is to move future teachers beyond the basic technique of teaching and into creating a life where they can feel fulfilled with their work, and able to create a space for all students to be accepted, seen, and guided.

Maria also mentors and coaches movement educators and other small business owners across the country, helping them start and scale businesses that align with their authentic gifts and missions.
